Take Action Friday: Stop Tulane From Using Live Pigs
Help PCRM stop the Tulane University School of Medicine from using anesthetized live pigs as objects for their training. Once the training session is complete, the pigs are killed.
Only 5% of schools are using this method of teaching in this type of course. PCRM is asking everyone to call/email and ask the Tulane University senior vice president and dean Benjamin Sachs, M.B., to stop using this cruel and outdated practice.
Here is the contact info:
Benjamin P. Sachs, M.B.
Senior Vice President and Dean
Tulane University School of Medicine
1430 Tulane Ave., SL 77
New Orleans, LA 70112

Phone: 504-988-5462
95% of schools that offer this course use medical simulators such as the TraumaMan System. Isn’t that better than taking the life of a pig. People say all the time that animals are needed to save lives. That this is why we test on them. But Tulane proves right here that in many cases animals are not needed as test subjects to save lives. Help stop Tulane and save the lives of these pigs.
