Rising Star News! Alyza is Vegan and Much More…
Some of you may remember a few weeks ago I posted about an independent film shooting in Connecticut called Rising Star. They said that if enough people chimed in, they would make their lead female character a vegan. And tons of people did! So Alyza will be a vegan in the film. Thanks to everyone out there who wrote in.
Also, the director Mary Lang said that if they raise enough money, he will eat a vegetarian diet during the shooting of Rising Star.
I’m the sustainability planner for the film. And while I couldn’t get them to agree to everyone going totally veg (I tried!), they are doing Meatless Mondays to be a little more earth friendly. Also, there will be a veg option every day.
However, all of this depended on raising enough money. They are doing a kick starter campaign that ends tonight at 10pm. But here is the really great news: They did it! They raised $15,000! Shooting will begin on October 3rd. They have until tonight to raise even more, so if you have a few spare bucks, lend these guys and gals a hand. Supporting the arts is a wonderful thing.
